A new bathroom renovation is a joy to behold and something you have most probably saved hard for years to accomplish. So now that you have your fabulous bathroom, you need to keep it clean. Hopefully, it won’t need as much cleaning as your old bathroom, but it still takes time and effort to keep your bathrooms sparkling, particularly if you have children!

To help you keep your renovated bathroom looking absolutely beautiful and as good as the day it was completed, here are our top five cleaning hacks.

bathroom renovation clean

1. No more streaks on your bathroom mirrors

You might have already tried a variety of methods to keep your bathroom mirrors clear of streaks, but many don’t work very well. One method that will work is shaving cream! All you need to do is to squirt small blobs of shaving cream across the mirror and then wipe it all off with a clean cloth. Don’t wash it off, because when you wipe it using a clean cloth you leave a very thin film of shaving film on the mirror. This helps to prevent your mirror fogging up, which is another problem solved.

2. No more mould on your shower curtains

Whilst you can put the shower curtains in the washing machine to remove black mould that grows along the bottom and seams, this doesn’t always work well. Another great hack is to add half a cup of baking soda to the laundry liquid and then half a cup of white vinegar to the rinse cycle. These two ingredients added to your washing machine work wonders in keeping your shower curtain free from mould.

3. Remove stains from toilet bowls

Baking soda and white vinegar are also awesome for keeping the inside of your toilet bowl clean. Simply mix half a cup of baking soda with the same amount of white vinegar and using a toilet brush, clean every inch of the bowl. Don’t flush the toilet yet, instead leave it to sit for around 15 minutes and then give it one more brush and then a full flush.

4. Banish ugly soap and water stains from glass shower screens

If you don’t continually clean your glass shower screens, they will form an unsightly layer of soap grime and water stains very quickly. The solution is to dip a cloth in black tea and wipe this all over the glass, because this loosens this debris and makes it easy to remove. Leave it for a few minutes than wipe it all away using a clean cloth, and the soap debris and water stains will be banished!

5. Make your bathroom windows sparkle!

If you are lucky enough to have large windows in your bathroom, you may have also noticed that they can be a pain to keep clean. This hack, however, can also be used for all the windows throughout your home, making them all beautifully clean without a lot of work. Mix one cup of water to half a cup of white vinegar and half a cup of rubbing alcohol (isopropyl alcohol) and spray it on the windows. Leave it for a few minutes and then wipe it off with a clean microfiber cloth. You will be amazed at the difference!
